Well today was the day we said fair well to an era as we wished Todd a Bon Voyage. Technically he does not leave for Buenos Aires another few days, but I will not see him before he becomes an ex-pat.
Everyone was given their task for the day - music, drinks, etc. The other Emily and I were put in charge of the diversion which was probably the easiest and least stressful. Of course this party was one of the best worst kept secrets out there which made our job way easier.
After an awesome dinner (duck with a blueberry port reduction - OMG good) and messing with Erica's mind by pretending we were going to stay on Capitol Hill for the evening, (she was one of the official in-official cruise directors of the evening) we headed back to the house. Despite knowing about the party, Emily and I were probably just as nervous as Todd was on the drive home. The only way to help squash those nerves would be to obviously dance it out. The new hot jam of the evening was Sitting on Top of the World. I dare you NOT to sing along.
As we pulled into the alleyway the party lights were on and everyone was hidden in Todd's room (someone did a very poor job at covering the windows). Oops. Of course the normal hilarity and dancing ensued with glow sticks of course. While the colored lights add to the party, it gives everyone the WORST RED EYE EVER and then you go and fix them and it looks like you took a Sharpie to everyone irises!!
The HOVA ladies (that would be from our freshman year dorm) and myself realized that we were slowly chipping away at eight years of friendship. Something at made us feel old.
A Todd Sandwich between two Emily's.
