Reunited and it FEELS SO GOOD!!

It was an early morning wake up and after only a few (literally, just three) hours of sleep I was on the road again, driving up to Baltimore to catch my bus to NYC.  This week several SUS 12 riders would be meeting for a reunion of sorts - many of these people I have not seen since the trip wrapped up.

Well everyone came out in droves and we ended up having 17 of the 27 riders show up (several people were welcomed surprises).  This would be the biggest gathering of SUS fools since we all left Monteray five months ago.   Big thank you to Meghan (below) for taking lots of photos as usual!!

After dropping my things, the crew headed down to Times Square to play tourist and take a few dance videos.  We were quite the motley crew bounding down the sidewalk.  Unfortunately it is MUCH harder to keep track of everyone when they are not wearing matching kits.  Thankfully Jay was carrying Megan's bag so we were able to play follow the leader through the crowd.

Lots of group pictures as we checked out the tourist locations!!

The brains of Half and Half got a picture at Rockefeller Plaza

Then it was off to find some dinner.  One of the questions I asked people during our long bike rides was, "what would your final meal be and don't worry about time/cost?"  Jay took us to this great hole in the wall burger place which happened to be the same place he would get his last meal.

Jay was gracious enough to let us all crash at his place.  We were able to relive our summer sleeping arrangements (think not-Cuba here people) by squeezing into his living room floor.  Many showed up with their sleeping bag/thermarests; the only thing missing was the collection of 20 gallon bins.  However, this time there was actually a cuddle puddle happening, and a pretty big one at that.

Two movie and lots of stories and laughs later, we all passed out.  Thanks to all the body heat blankets became optional.  It was definitely a great way to kick off the New Year!
